About the course

Everything you need to know before you cut

Lingerie goes wrong before the first seam: the wrong size, the wrong elastic, a stitch that snaps the first time it stretches. These three lessons cover the decisions that come before sewing, so your first piece fits and holds.

You will meet eight Fabrico lingerie styles, four panties and four bras rated from beginner-friendly to advanced, and learn how to measure yourself and pick the right size for each.

What the three lessons cover

Styles and sizing. The eight styles, their difficulty levels, and how to work out your bra and panty size from your own measurements.

Fabrics and notions. Stretch mesh, cotton jersey, lace on mesh and biflex, plus lingerie foam, the three kinds of elastic, underwires, boning and channeling tape, and how to choose each.

Stitches and machine setup. Straight stitch, zigzag, bar tack and dotted zigzag with exact settings, needles for stretch fabrics, and overlocker setup. An ordinary domestic machine is enough.

Who it's for

Anyone about to sew lingerie for the first time, including complete beginners. Each lesson ends with a short homework task, so by the end you have your size, a shopping list for your chosen style and a set of test seams.
