Step by step

Sewing instructions

Nine steps, from the shoulder seams to the final press.

  1. 1

Sew the shoulder and side seams of the front (1) and back (2). Press the seam allowances towards the back.

  2. 2

Press the binding for the neckline (3) and armholes (4) along the length.

  3. 3

Fold the binding in half and stitch it into a loop. Press the seam.

  4. 4

Topstitch along the edge of the bindings.

  5. 5

Attach the neckline binding, evenly distributing the ease allowance. Press the seam allowances onto the garment.

  6. 6

Topstitch along the neckline, 0.2 cm (0.08″) from the attaching seam, capturing the seam allowances.

  7. 7

Repeat the same process for the armholes.

  8. 8

Press the hem allowance to the wrong side. Topstitch with a finish stitch using a serger, or a double needle on a sewing machine.

  9. 9

    Iron the finished garment.
