Cut from a warm jersey knit, with a raincoat fabric option for the hood lining, pockets and sleeve patches, this pattern is sized 3 to 10 years.
For sewing this hoodie, we recommend a warm jersey knit.
For the cuffs, you can use ribbing — or make them from the main fabric instead.
For the pockets, hood and sleeve patches, you can use a raincoat fabric or another fabric of your choice.

Iron the interfacing to the grommet placement and install the grommets.
Pin the Side hood pieces to the Center hood piece with right sides together, aligning the notches, and serge.
Press the seam allowances toward the side hood, clip the curves, and top stitch the Center hood.
Repeat the same with the lining hood, then press the seam allowances toward the side hood.
Insert the lining hood into the outer hood with right sides together, pin, serge, and clip the curves.
Turn the hood right side out and press.
Iron interfacing to half of the pocket welt and to the pocket-opening area on the front panels (wrong side). Fold the pocket welt wrong sides together and press.
Mark the pocket opening on the right side of the front panels.
Mark the allowance line on the pocket welt, equal to the length of the pocket.
Baste the welt in place, aligning the markings — the fold faces the center, the raw edge faces the side.
Sew the pocket welt in place and check that all the marks match.
Mark the pocket-opening lines on the wrong side of the pocket pieces.
Pin the big pocket piece to the second line, opposite the welt, and sew in place.
Pin the little pocket piece on top of the welt, right side up, and sew in place — the two pocket pieces face in different directions.
Stitch on the wrong side, along the previously sewn welt line.
Mark the center line of the pocket between the two pieces (stopping 1.5 cm short of the edge) and continue the lines to the corners — these are the cut lines. Cut along them, stopping 1 mm from the notches to form triangles at the ends, then carefully turn the pocket right side out.
Stitch the triangles down on the wrong side, then top stitch around the pocket opening at a distance of 2–3 mm.
Straighten the pocket pieces, pin the welt to the pocket underlay, and stitch 2–3 mm from the welt so it frames the opening.
Pin the pocket pieces together, serge the raw edges, and press.
Repeat the same for the pocket on the right front, mirroring the position of the welt and pocket piece.
Pin the Front and Back shoulder edges with right sides together, serge, and press the seam allowances toward the Back.
Pin the hood to the neckline with right sides together, aligning the notches, serge, and press the seam allowances toward the hood.
Mark the patch placement on the sleeve. Fold and press the seam allowances on the patch (except along the side-pocket seam), then baste.
Pin the patches to the sleeve, aligning the markings, and sew in place 1 mm from the edge (except the side seam). Press.
Pin the sleeve into the open armhole, serge, and press the seam allowances toward the sleeve.
Fold the sleeve in half and pin; also pin the Front and Back side edges right sides together, and serge.
Fold the cuffs in half and stitch, then press the seam allowances open.
Pin the cuffs into the sleeve hem, slightly stretching the cuffs, serge, and press the seam allowances toward the sleeve.
Pin the bottom plackets' upper edge to the garment's bottom hem, serge, and press the seam allowances toward the placket.
Iron interfacing tape to the zipper placement, 4–5 mm from the edge.
Pin the right side of the zipper to the right front panel, aligning the notches, and sew in place. Repeat on the left side.
Baste and check that the zipper opens and closes well before sewing it permanently.
Baste the zipper underlay to the right front bodice, overlapping the lining hood at the top hem and the placket at the bottom hem. Pin, baste, then sew in place using a zipper foot. Press.
Turn the zipper to the right side and hand-sew the lining hood and bottom placket in place with a whip stitch. Press.
Top stitch along the zipper and top stitch the casing on the hood.
