Before you start

Fabric & supplies

Choose a fabric with a soft drape so the leg falls cleanly and the drawstring waist gathers without bulk.

Fabric recommendations

We recommend linen, cotton, lightweight suiting fabrics, or thin denim for sewing these trousers. All of them hold the relaxed shape well while staying breathable.

Fabric may shrink. When buying, get 5 to 10% more than the table below shows, and pre-wash before cutting.
