Milan girl's leggings pants sewing tutorial
Before sewing
The pattern of these leggings is suitable for elastic fabrics: light-weight cotton lycra jersey, biflex fabric.
For stripes, choose a contrasting fabric. Optionally, stripes can be decorated with decorative strap.
Use serger (overlock) to sew this leggings. In case you don’t have serger, replace it with a stretch stitch or zigzag stitch on the sewing machine. Use rubber elastics in sewing swimwear top.
While sewing we recommend to baste the details together before stitching to avoid displacement of the upper fabric.

When buying fabric, keep in mind that the material can shrink, so take with a margin of 5-10%.
You will also need an elastic in the waistband, the length of the band is indicated on the patterns.

Attention! All our patterns already contain 1 cm / 0.39 in seam allowances.
Description of tailoring
Lay front, back details and stripe on the table as it should be sewn.
Pin front pants detail to the stripe right sides together.
Then pin back pants details to the other side of the stripe, right sides together.
Serge it.
Press seam allowances to the front and back details.
Mark the folding line – 2 cm from the edge. Fold and press.
Sew in place folded allowance using any stretching seam or Twin Needle.
Cut off excess allowances and press it.
Mark the place to decorative strap.
The length of the strap is equal to the length of the leg + length of the strap (over the foot).
Pin the decorative strap along the marked line.
Sew in place.
Press it.
Fold the pants in half and pin along inseam right sides together.
Serge it.
Press seam allowances to the back.
Turn on the right side one the pants leg. Insert one into another right sides together.
Pin along the crotch, aligning the notches. Serge it.
Fold the elastic in half and stitch into a ring.
Fold the waistband in half and stitch its short edges.
Divide elastic and waistband into 4 equal parts.
Leave marks.
Fold the waistband in half wrong side together and press it.
Put elastic into the waistband. If needed, you baste it.
Pin the waistband into the upper edge of the leggings right sides together.
Serge in place. Press seam allowances to the leggings.
Measure foot strap. Pin it. Stitch several times fixing the strap.
Press one more time.
Leggins are ready!
