The design

Pattern description

A sweatshirt designed for pregnant and nursing mothers. Invisible zippers sit in the princess seams on the front for easy nursing access, with long sleeves and a neckline finished with a facing.

Before you start

Fabric & supplies

LOUISE is a knit pattern, so choose a fabric that stretches well and springs back into shape.

Suggested materials

We recommend a thick knitwear with lycra. Two-thread or three-thread French terry is perfect.

The fabric should be dense, stretch well, and then restore its shape.

Also needed

  • Interfacing 0.20 m (¼ yd)
  • Interfacing tape 1.50 m (1⅝ yd)
  • 2 invisible zippers for the nursing cuts 30 cm (11⅞ in) long
Pattern pieces already include seam allowances. When buying fabric, account for shrinkage and get 5 to 10% more than required.
