Cut out all the pattern pieces. Iron the interfacing to the facing pieces, both plackets, and the pocket opening.
Pin the facing pieces right sides together along the short edge and stitch. Press the allowances open.
Pin the back center panel to the back side panels, right sides together, and stitch. Serge the allowances and press them toward the side panels.
Pin the front center panel to the front side panels, right sides together, and stitch. Serge the allowances and press them toward the side panels.
Pin the front and back together along the side edge, right sides together, and stitch. Serge the allowances and press toward the back.
Pin the front strap to the back strap, right sides together, along the short edge — match the notch marks to connect them correctly — and stitch. Press the seam allowances open.
Pin the strap pieces right sides together and stitch lengthwise along both sides. Press the seam allowances, turn the straps right side out, and press again.
Pin the straps to the front and back along the notches and sew in place.
Serge the facing's bottom raw edge. Pin the facing to the garment's upper hem, right sides together, baste if needed, and stitch.
Turn the garment right side out and topstitch.
Pin the pocket pieces to the front and back skirt panels, matching the notches, and stitch at 0.5 cm (0.2").
