Maternity pants with a soft, stretchy belly inserter, side-seam pockets and an elasticated drawstring waistband. Sewn in knit fabric so they grow with you right through pregnancy.
The design
Pants for pregnant women with an elastic belly inserter, pockets in the side seams, and an elasticated waistband with a drawstring. The high, stretchy front panel sits comfortably over the bump and adjusts as it grows.
Before you start
EVA is a knit pattern, so choose fabrics that stretch well and recover their shape.
For the pants, we recommend a dense knitwear with lycra. Two-thread French Terry is perfect. For warmer pants, use a denser knit such as three-thread French Terry or fleece.
If you choose a warmer main fabric like fleece, use rib-knit or 2-thread French Terry with lycra for the waistband, in a colour that matches the main fabric.
For the elastic inserter, pick a more stretchable knit such as rib-knit or jersey. It should be dense, stretch well, and spring back into shape.
How much to buy
Fabric requirement is given for a fabric width of 1.80 m (2 yd). Pick your size to see the elastic, cord, fabric and belly-insert amounts you need.

Nine pieces across two fabric groups. Cut the main pieces from your main knit, and the elastic inserts from a stretchier knit.
Interface the front piece of the waistband only.
Already included in every pattern piece, so cut straight along the lines.
